SON Valley operates the only private, Christian, Intermediate Care Facility Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ICFIDD) in the state of Mississippi. There we have two group homes located on 80 acres of donated land in Madison County, just outside of Canton. The two homes have an occupancy of ten residents each for a total of twenty. We also have a walking track and a 50′ by 60′ pavilion

The Yellow House is home to 10 residents. Here, our residents are home and they live with 9 other friends. They either have a roommate or they have a private room. Each home has 4.5 bathrooms, two laundry facilities, a large living/dining room, and a large kitchen. Our residents help with duties around the house such as making their beds; washing, drying and folding clothes; helping cook meals; setting the table; and cleaning up after meals. They also have a large television in the living room where they can hang out and watch their favorite programs.

At SON Valley ICF, we have a walking track for our residents to enjoy. It has two different walking surfaces–the dark side is shredded tires and the lighter surface is crushed limestone. The residents also have used the grass area in the middle for different games like badminton. The track is 1/12th of a mile long.
We have a 50′ by 60′ pavilion at SON Valley ICF. It has served as a place for our Fall Festival, watermelon seed spitting contests, arts and crafts center, special cookouts, and even as a trike riding facility. The residents especially enjoy shooting hoops when the weather permits!
